Asia's biggest sporting event is also known as Asiad. The credit of his beginning goes to Prof. Yes. D. is given to Sodhi. The first Asian Games were held in 1951 in Delhi, the capital of India. In which 11 countries participated. India hosted the Asian Games for the second time in 1982.

46 countries have participated in the Asian Games. A total of 45 countries are participating this time. It is touted as the second largest multi-sports event after the Olympics. These games are organized by the Asian Olympic Committee, which works under the International Olympic Committee. Its symbol is the rising sun, in which many chakras are intertwined. The torch and flag were given by the Maharaja of Patiala for the first Asian Games, which continues even today.

The Asian Olympic Committee takes full responsibility of organizing these games. In these games, now about 36 sports competitions participate in 44 countries, cricket has also been included in the 2010 Asian Games. So far, the Asian Games have been organized twice in India: in the year 1951 and 1982.

In the first Asian Games, India got the second place by winning a total of 54 medals.

So far 9 countries have hosted the Asian Games. Thailand has hosted it the maximum number of times. South Korea has hosted 3 times. India has hosted 2 times. Pakistan got the opportunity to host this Asian Games in 1975 but due to financial crisis and political reasons, it could not host it. Till now Pakistan has not hosted any Asian Games.

The Asian Games will be organized in China in the year 2022.
